The UN Climate Conference in Bali and Second Life

Second Life citizens have been participating in the UN Climate Conference in Bali which started on Monday, 3 December and close on Friday, 14 December 2007.

In the Virtual World Second Life, citizens have been attending sessions in the OneClimate island. The interaction with Bali is starting at 12:30 UTC/GMT (4:30 AM Second Life time) every day in order to put questions and thoughts to delegates at the Bali Climate Summit. This live window on the crucial UN conference has received support from Her Royal Highness The Princess of Yaximixche in the form of promotion and awareness of the event amongst more than 800 Honourables of HRH Princess Manqo Foundation.

The Conference is presided over by Indonesian Environment Minister Rachmat Witoelar, with support from the UN’s Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC), headed by Executive Secretary Yvo de Boer. The first week involved negotiations among the Parties at the level of high-ranking government officials on a wide range of issues. On Wednesday, 12 December, the high-level segment will start with addresses by the UN Secretary-General and the President of Indonesia.

The initiative of promoting actively this event within Second Life amongst different groups has been led by The Princess of Yaximixche, and is likely to have a significant impact on the UN climate negotiations starting next week as the conference has received a massive response from Second Life citizens and delegates are receiving feedback and questions from citizens around the globe.

The Prince of Yaximixche congratulated the organisers from OneWorld and OneClimate for allowing Second Life´s citizens to express their thoughts and ask questions and has “fervent hope” that leaders in Bali will make the tough decisions the world so urgently needs and that will have a tremendous impact on the future of humanity.

Citizens who don´t have Second Life can also watch delegates on video and put their questions in a chat box below the Second Life live video either in OneClimate or HRH Princess Manqo website.

OneClimate kindly provides a free archive with recorded videos of previous days of this important event which is available to the audience accross the planet.

Symbols of The Princess of Yaximixche

Yax-imix-che or the central world tree is a mythology representation of our Earth as a ceiba tree in reference to HRH Princess Manqo duties in helping to save our planet by protecting the Amazon Rainforest and fighting against Climate Change. The tree of life also represents her spiritual connection to her Mayan ancestors and openness to other cultures.

The Inti or sun god represents the warmth and light spirit of HRH Princess Manqo as well her divine heritage and direct descent of her Inca ancestors from the Sun.

The Fleur-de-lis honours HRH Princess Manqo European roots and also it is an emblem used by almost all civilisations of the old and new worlds, therefore represents no boundaries in time or geographical space as the Virtual Worlds where the Princess "call of duty" is performed.

The Latin motto "Non Sibi, Sed Suis" means "Not for one's self but for one's people" and it reflects Her Royal Highness commitment to her people in Second and Real Life

Having a public or private conversation with HRH The Princess of Yaximixche

HRH Princess Manqo is interested in developing a continuous and healthy communication with any Second Life citizen by following Linden Labs guidelines.

Privacy

Under no circumstances it is permitted the publication or posting of conversation extracts or logs without written permission from the Royal Household of HRH The Princess of Yaximixche. In order to respect Linden Labs "Terms of Service and Second Life Community Standards"(1) you will have to formally request in advance the publication of any extract of the text conversation by sending a "texture letter". You must include your name, organisation, name of the newspaper, magazine or website, expected date of publication, and making reference to the text conversation that you would like to publish (this texture letter can be created in power point and then uploaded to SL).

You are kindly advised to address your request to The Private Secretary to Her Royal Highness The Princess of Yaximixche (IM: Aaaa Thor). Three days later after sending your request for the conversation log publication, you will receive an answer in a "texture letter" from The Private Secretary. In case of unauthorised publication of HRH The Princess of Yaximixche conversation logs, her Royal Household will follow the procedures suggested by Linden Labs to resolve this situation.
